Jeffrey Horn was born in Argentina, and his father was a senior executive in the major oil company Standard Oil. He grew up in Cuba and received his education in a series of private schools. He studied at the University of California at Berkeley, studied acting at the American Film Institute, and trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in 1954. He became a member of the Actors Studio in 1956 and became a member of the faculty at the American Film Institute. He also teaches acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, in New York City.
