She married actor and producer William Tallman, retired, and gave birth to two children, in addition to two children from a previous marriage, but she and her husband suffered from many problems due to their alcohol addiction, and their marriage ended in divorce. She won custody of the children and was treated for her addiction for a year until she recovered. However, her alcohol addiction left psychological effects on her. She committed suicide in Laguna Beach, California, USA on December 11, 1963.
