Richard Bennett was an American actor, born in Indiana on May 21, 1870, as Clarence Charles William Henry Richard Bennett, and died on October 22, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, of a heart attack. Bennett is best known for his roles in Damaged Goods (1914), The End of the Road...Read more (1919), If I Had a Million (1932), and Magnificent Ambersons (1942). Richard Bennett is an actor and playwright. Early in his life, he worked as a tailor's assistant in Indiana, then worked as a clerical employee before becoming a professional boxer. For some time, he joined the vaudeville troupe in Chicago, then devoted himself to theatrical work on Broadway from 1899 to 1935. He began his cinematic appearance in silent cinema with the movie Damaged Goods (1914), but he was more a theater star than a movie star.
