A British actress born in Lewisham, Lee Kent, London, England, United Kingdom on June 27, 1921. She married the actor Derek Farr (1947-1986) and remained with him until his death, and they did not have any children. This beautiful, thin-looking actress worked in British cinema in the fifties and performed nicely in many works especially in comedy. She began her artistic career in theatrical work at an early age, and she stood on stage in the play The Old Maid (1936) when she was 15 years old. She presented Oedipus Rex (1936), Victoria Regina (1937), Dear Octopus (1938), and Dear Brutus (1940). Her film career began with a small role in Sing As We Go (1934) - a musical comedy film by the band Gracie Fields. She was always radiant and youthful, playing roles much younger than her real age and had a larger role in Quiet Wedding (1941) with Margaret Lockwood. She became known for Night Boat to Dublin (1946). In 1947, she intensified her television appearance in Hamlet, which was presented by television in four parts, in which she played the role of Ophelia, taking advantage of her theatrical experience. She was a comic hero in thrillers, light comedies, and war films, and she always played the role of the bride, wife, or the jealous, unloved friend especially in Shakespeare's classic plays. When her film career faded in the early sixties, she and her husband worked mostly on theater and television, and after her husband's death in 1986, she continued her television work. One of her last roles was in the TV movie Belonging (2004) when she was 83 years old.
