American actor born Earnest Lee Nash in Kaufman, Texas on 1 October 1896. He began his career working in vaudeville theater and was very successful. He led a very successful career in vaudeville theater and Broadway later on and formed the comedy group Ted Healy and his stooges...Read more with Moe Howard and Shemp Howard--later to become the very famous Three Stooges. He also worked with his then-wife Betty Brown for a long time until they got divorced. His most notable works include Soup to Nuts (1930), Nerstery Rhymes (1933), Mad Love (1935), and San Francisco (1936). He married twice and had one child. He died on 21 December 1937 in Los Angeles, California.
