Clarence Paul helped him develop his musical talent without focusing on one specific genre. He released his first album in 1965 titled Everything's Alright which was met with huge success. In 1966, he covered Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" and starting 1967 he began collaborating with other artists and writing songs for them. In 2009, he was named one of the United Nations Messengers of Peace.
