During her work with the Federal Theater Projects she was scouted by someone from Warner Bros. and signed a contract with them and signed a 3-year contract. She made her film debut on They Won't Forget (1937). Other notable works of hers include Gold Diggers in Paris (1938), They Made Me a Criminal (1939), and I Want a Divorce (1940). She appeared in several other B-list films and her last appearance was on Rationing (1944) with MGM. She married ex-boxer William Fitzgerald. By the end of her life, she struggled with weight gain and alcoholism, and died on 10 April 1945 in Los Angeles, California.
