An Israeli actress, singer, and model, born in Shavei Tzion, Palestine, as Daliah Levenbuch. She was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1963 and a Golden Globe in 1966. She was famous in Europe long before she was in Hollywood in the late 1960s. Her family is of German, Polish, and Russian origins. At the age of ten, she met the star Kirk Douglas, who helped her travel to Stockholm to study ballet and acting. In 1955, she made her film debut, The People of Hemso (1955). She was forced to return to Israel due to the death of her father. She was recruited into the Israeli army, and in 1960, she returned to Europe and made German, French, Italian, Spanish, and English films, helped by her proficiency in all of these languages. In 1966, she headed to Hollywood, and her last film with Paul Bryner was Catlow (1971). She began a successful singing journey during the seventies until she became the most popular singer in Germany with some appearances on German television as an actress. During the eighties, she devoted herself to singing and modeling, and in the nineties, she reappeared as an actress on German television, until she retired in 1997. She died in Asheville, North Carolina, USA, on May 3, 2017.
