She began her artistic career by singing,...Read more dancing, and acting with her three sisters at the vaudeville theater, which led her to become an actress. She became known as a Broadway leading and supporting actress in category B films in 1930s cinema. Her family moved to New York in the early twenties to work in the vaudeville theater singing, dancing, and acting. In 1930, George White's Scandals was shown in 1931, and they headed west to present their first films, Poor Little Rich Boy (Short 1932). She separated from her sisters, who preferred retirement and marriage. She presented her first solo films as a chorus girl in Roman Scandals (1933). She contracted with the Fox company and played some leading roles. She soon returned again to the supporting roles, and in 1939, she married the actor and musician, and pianist Oscar Levent; she put her profession aside, and they had three daughters Marcia, Amanda and Lorna. She suffered from chronic hypothyroidism and severe mood swings, which affected her private life, especially since her marriage from the beginning was tumultuous. She tried to commit suicide. She reappeared again in the sixties on stage and television, sometimes with her husband and sometimes alone. She died of pneumonia at the age of 85 years.
