Biography

An American actor who was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, USA on December 22, 1914 and died in Camarillo, California, USA on January 16, 1998 from complications of a stroke. He married two wives and had 7 children. His most important worksare Watermelon Man (1970), Intruder...Read more (1989), and The Three Stooges in Orbit (1962). He appeared in hundreds of feature films and television programs and is best known for appearing with The Stooges. His father was a coal miner who died of black lung disease, when Emil was 12, and his mother was hospitalized, unable to care for her children, so he moved to nursing homes. He went to live in Pittsburgh Church, Pennsylvania With a Catholic priest and became an altar boy, planned to enter the priesthood, and had his first opportunity to act in the church theater. At the age of 16, he wandered with one of his brothers across the United States in search of work for a year, and finally in 1936, he got a manual job in one of the theaters during the day. In the evening, he presents in the theater micro roles until he took part in the short film Andy Plays Hookey (1946). He died at the age of 84.
