During the 1930s, he presented 85 films, and 45 films in the 1940s, in supporting roles, often with the roles of a tyrannical university professor, a merciful doctor, a strict judge, and a businessman. In 1931, he played the role of criminologist Dr. Crabtree in a 12-short film series. Donald Meek made his last Hollywood movie, Magic Town (1947), with Jane Wyman and James Stewart.
