Ray Teal was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA on January 12, 1902 as Ray Elgin Teal, and died in Santa Monica, California, USA, on April 2, 1976. He married Laraway Louise (1926-1976) and she remained with him until his death. Ray Till's most important works include The Best...Read more Years of Our Lives 1946, Inherit the Wind 1960, and Judgment at Nuremberg 1961. Ray Till is best known to television audiences, for his participation in the long-running series Bonanza 1959-1972, where he played 98 episodes, and was one of the most versatile character actors. In films, and his career lasted 40 years, he played the roles of policemen, gunmen, gangs, and judges, and he could have played a kind and affectionate grandfather in one film, and the role of a sadistic, heartless killer, in the next film, with equal confidence. Ray Tell was a sax player in local bands, while studying at the University of California in the twenties. He gradually took bigger roles, as he participated in American Western films such as Western Jamboree 1938, then a larger role with the star Spencer Tracy in the movie Northwest Passage 1940 and appeared in series, Western films, crime dramas and war films, and a small and unforgettable role in The Best Years of our Lives 1949 And a larger and unforgettable part in the movie Judgment at Nuremberg 1961 and more than 80 appearances in television works from The Lone Ranger 1949 to Green Acres 1965, and he died in 1976 at the age of 74.
