An American writer and playwright, born in 1885. Lewis obtained a BA from Yale University in 1908. His first novel, “Hike and the Aeroplane,” was published in 1912. In 1930, he became the first American to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. He died in Rome in 1951, and his last novel, "World So Wide", was published posthumously.
