• British actress born Maureen Rippingale in Chelmsford, Essex, UK on 27 May 1935. She made her onscreen debut at 12 years old on the film The Silver Darling (1947). She ran away...Read more from home at 16 and worked as a chorus girl at a club in London. She then travelled to Paris and worked as a nude model and came back to the UK and appeared in several films including Woman in a Dressing Gown (1957) which won a Golden Globe in 1958. Other works of hers include Dangerous Youth (1957), The Good Companions (1957), and Doctor in Love (1960). She married Michael Dalling and had two children. She died of a birth control pill overdose on 28 February 1974 at only 38 years old, in London, UK.
