He's best known for playing Mr. Peavey in three of the Great Gildersleeve...Read more movies, including Gildersleeve's Bad Day (1943) and The Great Gildersleeve (1954). He also worked on radio since 1929. Richard died on June 29, 1963, at the age of 81.
