He was chosen as a censor of the books of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, whose mission was to summarize the English books, newspapers, and magazines that came to Egypt. He served as the head of the State Information Service and the first official spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic. He's known for From Universal Stories for Children (1985). He died on April 16, 2013.
