A British actor who began his artistic career in silent cinema in the United States of America and worked in theater in New York. He worked profusely in Hollywood until the beginning of the fifties. His first silent films were Where Love Leeds in 1916, his first talking film was Way for a Sailor in 1930, and his last was The Brigand in 1952. He died of a brain haemorrhage in 1952 at the age of 70.
