An American actress who was born in Tampa, Florida, USA on August 5, 1919 and died in Bellevue, Washington, USA on June 30, 1994. She was married to director and producer Edwin L. Marin (1940-1951), and they had 3 children. Her most important works are The Women (1939), Third...Read more Finger, Left Hand (1940), Gang Busters (1952), and Guns Don't Argue (1957). She did supporting roles at MGM in the 1930s and 1940s. She began her career in theatrical companies in Florida. She was discovered and brought to California to begin her film career with the movie Spring Madness (1936) as a supporting character. She went on to work in the roles of mothers, wives, maids, best friends, neighbors, secretary, nurse, and saleswoman. When television came out, she became a familiar face, appearing in many comedy series as a guest on soap operas. After her retirement, she worked as a successful real estate agent and a patron of numerous schools, libraries, and museums. She taught theater acting at the Pasadena Theatre. Her last movie was One Foot in Hell (1960). She died in 1994 at the age of 74.
