An American actor, born in Forest City, Iowa, USA, on November 9, 1910, as Stanley Leland Weed. He married Evelyn McCauley (1935-1975), with whom he had 4 children, and she remained with him until his death. Bob Baker was a singer and actor, who starred in several films as a singing cowboy in the late 1930s. He worked as a real cowboy in his youth and was a rodeo champion at the age of 16. At 18, he joined the army, where he learned to play the guitar. He started professional singing at the age of 20 at a radio station in Texas. He competed in several states as a professional rodeo roper and rider, which led him to work for Universal as a singing cowboy in Western films. He presented dozens of films until he was injured, then he started playing minor roles. He used to perform with a guitar in movie theaters to promote films as additional work. In the 1940s, Bob Baker's work in films was limited to performing stunts, then he served in the army again during World War II, after which he joined the police force in Flagstaff, Arizona. He also served in the US Army during the Korean War. He died at the age of 64 in Prescott, Arizona, USA, on August 29, 1975, of a stroke.
