British actor and writer with 60 years of experience in theater and cinema, born in London, England, United Kingdom on November 4, 1863, as Henry William Walter Horsley Beresford. He got married twice and had one daughter. He began his career at the Gamiti Theater in London in 1885, and the following year he moved to the United States of America, where he sang in theaters, and in 1919 he achieved great success on Broadway. He made his cinematic debut in Hollywood in 1926. He is known for Seven Keys to Baldpate (1935), David Copperfield (1935), and Anna Karenina (1935). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 4, 1944, of heart disease.
