Nadia Al Guindy: Hend Rostom Bears Witness that I am Queen Nazly, A Role that I have Found Very Challenging

In an on-air interview broadcast on the “Sabah el khier ya Misr” (“Good Morning Egypt”) show, Nadia Al Guindy has described the praise she has received from Hend Rostom for her role in the television series “Malikah fee al Manfee” (“A Queen in Exile”) as special among all of the other accolades she has received. Nadia has stated that the reason this is so is because Hend Rostom is known for her frankness and honest opinions – that in itself makes Rostom’s praise particularly meaningful for Nadia.Magda Al Sabahy also took the occaision to congratulate Nadia Al Guindy in a telephone call that was broadcasted on-air on the set of the show. In her call, Magda expressed her delight with the effort that was put into the series and directed her praise to the team involved and to Nadia Al Guindy in particular for her acting role. The crew of the program, which is broadcast on the satellite and airwave divisions of channel 1, had surprised Nadia with those two endorsement – a surprise which was well received by her.Nadia has stated that she likes controversial roles that capture an audience’s attention. This has become especially so as writing standards for drama productions have slipped recently, leading her to turn down several screenplays as of late.Nadia adds that the character of Queen Nazly attracted her and thus she decided to portray the role. She also adds that she has received several encouraging reactions from within Egypt and across the Arab World, praising the series. Moreover, Nadia has said that the series came in second in a poll run by “Al Ahram” newspaper to determine the size of show viewerships. Nadia has also expressed that she was particularly impressed with the last phase of the show which required the use of make-up to portray aging - she also further described that phase of the show as challenging.
