Al A’laily Denies Claims that State Security Were Involved In Preparing the Screenplay for “Al Gama’ah” (“The Group”)

Actor E’zzat Al A’laily has rebuffed claims that state security services were involved in writing the screenplay for the television series “Al Gama’ah” (“The Group”). He added that the screenplay’s author, Wahid Hamed, has referred to several sources and texts based on the tense period that Hassan Al Banna lived in.E’zzat has also said that he remembers hearing Al Banna’s addresses when he was a nine year old child and that he was a great admirer of his. Moreover, he adds that Al Banna was a professor of Arabic calligraphy and that he is far removed from the violent archetype of Al Zahrawy.E’zzat Al A’laily has added that he believes that Hassan Al Banna’s Islamic Mission was genuine and truthful, and that extremist elements that affected his cause were separate and distant from him. He has also added that Hassan Al Banna came forth in the midst of the tense atmosphere in the 1940s to declare that those who commit violence are not part of his movement.
