Nisreen Tafesh portrays Rabea’ al-‘Addawiyah in “Zahidat al-Bassra”

Syrian actress Nisreen Tafesh will assume the role of Rabea’ al-‘Addawiyah in the television title “Zahidat al-Bassra”. The new series will recount the life of Rabea’ al-‘Addawiyah from the moment of her birth and until she finds truth by learning the path to God’s acceptance – a quest which had always occupied her thoughts. The production will seek to portray the trials and tribulations encountered by the heroine in addition to her vocal skills and her talent for playing the flute. Throughout her life she meets a variety of people before finally settling on the course that she wanted her life to take.The screenplay for the series was authored by ‘Uthman Gohha and the work is produced by the Mirage production and distribution company and should be ready for television by the Ramadan 2011. Nisreen has settled on this production after reviewing the screenplays for several other works.
