Director Mohamed ‘Abd Al ‘Azeez has affirmed his opinion that heavy smoking was not the cause behind the recent medical crisis experienced by his son, actor Kareem ‘Abd Al ‘Azeez. To this effect, the director stated in an interview with the MBC website: “Kareem is a lifelong smoker and he has never before suffered any problems to do with his respiratory system.”The director also added that his son will not leave hospital for at least two weeks as he is currently undergoing several medical tests and procedures in order to resolve all doubts with regards to his health before he leaves London where he is currently staying in the company of his wife and mother. It should be noted that Kareem had recently suffered a medical setback whereby eight minor infarctions were discovered in his lung, something which was causing him difficulty in breathing. This has required him to stay at a London hospital until his condition stabilizes and any associated medical doubts are resolved.
