Playwright Faisal Nada has decided to integrate Libyan leader Mu’ammar al-Qaddafi and Yemeni president ‘Ali Saleh into the play “Mukhlaw’an fee al-Qasr” (“Ousted from the Castle”). Thus they will join the characters of Mubarak and Ben ‘Ali and the name of the play will be changed to “al-Makhlou’oon” (“The Ousted”).Nada has indicated that the events taking place in the Arab World and the spread of the revolutionary tide to several countries in the region has led him to rewrite the first act of his play in order to integrate the aforementioned characters. The writer also added that he will suspend writing the rest of the play until events in Yemen and Libya reach a resolution and it is determined whether or not al-Qaddafi and Saleh will be ousted. Nada also stated “the leads in the play will be unknown actors because none of the present performers can assume the role of Mubarak, Ben ‘Ali or al-Qaddafi.”
