Zizi Moustafa, the retired Egyptian dancer, actor Menna Shalaby’s mother, confirmed that taking off the veil is her own decision and that no one forced her. She strongly denied that her daughter pushed her to do so, which she considered a private issue between her and God.She also denied that her return to acting is for money sake, confirming that she is well off and considering that the reason of returning is her acting passion.Zizi said in an interview with the TV show “Al-Mosalsalaaty” on “Nile Drama 2” channel: “Taking off the veil is my decision; Menna did not force me, especially since as it is a personal matter between me and God, I do not think that it is of anybody’s business because it is me only who will bear the consequences”.She added: “Menna let me do what I want, and take the decision that I see appropriate, I did not think that this decision would upset anyone, as people deal with me as a person and it does not count on my look or my veil”.The retired dancer stressed that the decision to return to acting came from her own will and that her daughter had nothing to do with it, pointing that Menna advised her not to accept any random role and to select deeply the role that respects her name and her artistic career.Zizi has denied that the reason of her return is money, as did some of the previously veiled actors, pointing that she lives a decent life and that her passion for acting made her return. She revealed that she helped her daughter Menna to become an actor, as she advised her to join the High Institute of Dramatic Arts, especially that Menna did not have any plans after high school. Zizi pointed that she advised Menna not to declare her identity at the institute and Menna excelled at the institute and was always among the top students
