Again the director of the series Sulliman’s Ring, Ahmed Abdel Hamid takes a unanimous decision with cast and crew to stop shooting the series, because of their unpaid wages. During the first crisis, producer Mahmoud Baraka ended it by giving them bank checks to pay off for their wages. Only for the cast to discover that the checks were blank, hence bringing the series to a halt.In a statement made to “Al Masry Al Yoom” newspaper, director Abdel Hamid said that he is adamant to go on strike until they get paid. He added that he originally agreed along with the cast and crew to work without payment because he understood the financial situation and the economical crisis the whole country was going through.Especially that the producer had promised that once the series is marketed and sold to the satellite channels everyone will get paid and more. Yet, even after the series was marketed no one got paid and they were given blank checks.
