In an interview with "Al Tahrir" newspaper, actress Ghada Abdel Razek stated that the role she played in the series "Samara" was the traditional role of the local Egyptian girl. She is perplexed as to why there was a campaign of attack towards her that accused her of playing repetitive roles. She added that legendary Hend Rostom used to play these kind of roles all the time and no one attacked her that way, so why should she be different. Ghada also stated that she does not see why she should not represent a symbol of feminism in Egypt, why does it always have to be someone from a different nationality for example Lebanese . Ghada angrily said that this kind of comparison makes it very difficult for any Egyptian female to compete.
