Actor Mohamed Ramadan travels tomorrow to Morocco to participate with his film "Al Khourouj Min Alqahera – Getting Out of Cairo" in Tetouan Festival for Feature Films competition. The film has participated in many international festivals and won a few awards. It received Best Technical Support Award in Dubai Festival, Best Film Award in Munich Festival, and Best Cinematography in Amsterdam Cinema Festival. It also participated in Tribeca Film Festival where Robert De Niro was in the judging committee."Al Khourouj Min Alqahera" is about the suffering of a young Egyptian man who fails to fulfill his dreams in Egypt because of the financial and social pressures he is under. He decides to travel to pursue his dreams especially when he witnesses many successful young men outside of Cairo. He falls in love with a Christian girl while he is a Muslim. Even though the film has scored many successes in the international festivals, it was banned from Luxor African Film Festival as the judging committee felt that it disgraced Egypt and religions. This is the first time Ramadan has a lead role in a film, and he is still shooting the last scenes of his new film "ElAlmany" which will be released soon. He is also waiting for the release of another film of his "Heyya Wahda" but the date is not specified yet.
