As expected, “The Hunger Games” continues breaking records in the Box Office by adding 33.5 million over the weekend in which it surpasses the 300 million dollar barrier since its release two weeks ago. This makes it the sixth fastest original film which is not a sequel to reach this number. Adapted from the best seller by Suzanne Collins, “The Hunger Games” takes place in a dystopian future where an annual contest is held between 24 players and the winner is the last to stay alive! The film stars Jennifer Lawrence and is directed by Gary Ross.In second place comes the low budge comedy “American Reunion” which is directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg with a weekend gross of 21.5 million dollars. And to James Cameron’s surprise, his 3D remake of “Titanic” was hit by another iceberg and sank to third place with a weekend gross of 17.5 million. This number is way beneath his expectations as he waited for a 30 million dollar gross from its 1st week premiere but it turns out that this is the total gross it earned since its release in the States alone.
