Johnny Depp receives MTV generation award

Johnny Depp celebrates receiving the MTV Generation award during the MTV Movie Awards, held in the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. He received this award in recognition of his exceptional contribution in movie making and the entertainment of generations of MTV viewers.Stephen Friedman; MTV executive; states that "Depp is a talented fearless actor, he has the ability to play any character, and after his performances all these years, he truly deserves the Generation Award". As part of the celebration, dynamic duo the Black Keys will perform a special rendition of their hit "Gold on the Ceiling" in Depp's honor.Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey are some of his predecessors of this award.Also tomorrow during the celebration will be the first special viewing of President Barack Obama's campaign ad, where actress Sarah Jessica Parker invites his supporters to a dinner party at her house in New York on the 14th of June to gather donations for the campaign.
