Arab Music Festival in Alexandria marks the return of Hany Shaker to the singing field after a year absence

Thursday 12th of July will mark the start of the fifth Arab Music Festival which will be held on Sayed Darwish Theater in Alexandria and lasts for seven consecutive dasy.The festival this year will be directed by Jehan Morsy and will feature a lot of Arab singers and musicians from Egypt, Lebanon and Morocco and they are Hany Shaker, Marwa Nagy, Lebanese violinist Jehad Akl, Rehab Motawe, Hany Amer, Khaled Seleem, Soma, Mohamed El-Helw, Karmen, Moroccan Jannat, Amgad El-Attafy, Reham Abd El-Hakeem, Ali El-Haggar and composer and pianist Omar Khayrat in order of apperance, accompanied by three opera music bands: Abd El-Haleem Nwera band for Arabic music with Maestro Salah Ghabashy, National Arab Music with Maestro Seleem Sahab and Alexandria Opera band for Music and Arab Songs with Maestro Abd El-Hameed Abd El-Ghafar.The festival marks the return of Hany Shaker to the field after an over-a-year pause with no concerts in Egypt, and the start of the upcoming young singer Karmen, winner of Arab Idol.On the other hand, Dr Enas Abd El-Daym; head of Egypt Opera House; has hinted that the festival will include a tribute to the late artist Warda with a section of her best songs, sang by Amgad El-Attafy joined by several Arab opera singers.
