Al Pacino and the "Stand Up Guys" opens the 48th Chicago International Film Festival.

The 48th Chicago International Film Festival opens with the screening of the crime-comedy "Stand Up Guys" by director Fisher Stevens and starring Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Julianna Margulies. "Stand Up Guys" is script by Noah Haidle and is about an aging con man "Walken" who tries to get back his old gang together to welcome the release of their mate "Pacino" before one of them takes on his last assignment by murdering his comrade. The film should hit theaters in the USA by the beginning of 2013.The festival consists of 15 sections that include the "Competition" where 20 films from 15 countries compete, "New Directors Competition" where 21 directors compete with 21 long feature films and "Documentaries" with 21 films that include the Lebanese film "The Three Disappearances of Soad Hosni" by Rania Stephan.Also, the festival includes World Cinema. Special Events, After Dark, Cinema of the Two Americas, City and Country, Spotlight Middle East, OUTrageous, Cinema of Women, Short Feature Films and Cinema of Chicago.
