"Brave" won Best Animated Feature at the 85th Oscars ceremony last night. It is the seventh Pixar film to win the prize in the twelve years the category has been around. "Brave," set in a medieval and mythical Scotland, completed its hat trick last night, having won the same award at the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes this year.

Director Mark Andrews accepted the award. The win was also celebrated by Scotland's first minister Alex Salmond, who said, "It is absolutely fantastic to see Merida and the gang continue to fly the flag for Scotland in Hollywood with Brave's latest success at the Academy Awards."

The animated epic stars the hilarious Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters. The film grossed over $535 million worldwide.
