Angelina Jolie to Direct "Unbroken" with Coen Brothers Script!

The script will be based on the 2010 bestselling novel "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption" by Laura Hillenbrand.

As if surviving shark attacks and aerial attacks weren't harrowing enough, when Zamperini was picked up by Japanese forces, he was tortured and imprisoned for two additional years. If you were wondering, the great Zamperini is still kicking and going strong! The 96-year-old is a motivational speaker and has written two memoirs about his experiences.

Universal bought the rights to the script in January 2011, and Jolie got on board as director this past December.
