The famous actress Samira Ahmed denied reports about her nominating Turkish actors for the cast of her new drama series “Alb Om” (A Mother's Heart). Press reports have published lately that Samira Ahmed has nominated Turkish actor Engin Akyürek, who played Karim in the Turkish series “Fatma,” to play her son in her new series. She also denied the nomination of a Turkish actor to play the role of her husband.

The star told that the series is still in the writing phase. She added that the plot is about a wife whose husband leaves her and travels, taking their son with him. The mother searches for her son for thirty years. She added that no casting nominations have been done till now for either Egyptian or foreign actors.

The famous actress revealed that she would have changed the screenplay if she had nominated Turkish actors, aligning herself with the position of many in the country in boycotting Turkey in response to its aggressive disapproval of recent events in Egypt and Prime Minister Erdogan's statements about Egypt.

“Alb Om” is the first writing experience for Galila, Samira Ahmed's daughter. Hazem El Hadidi wrote the screenplay and dialogue for Galila's story.
