Director Ahmed Maher revealed in an exclusive interview with that he changed the title of his new film “Bi Ay Ard Tamoot” (In Which Land you'd Die) to “Lahm wa Dam” (Flesh and Blood), pointing out that the film was supposed to be shot in Italy, but changes in Egypt's political scene have had their effect on foreign companies that were supposed to co-finance the film, and accordingly, the film will be shot in Egypt and Lebanon.

Maher added that the withdrawal of those foregin companies was not a hostile reaction to the 30th of June revolution, however, they doubted the completion of the film under the continuously changing political circumstances and constant unrest in Egypt, specially with the presence of Italians among the film's crew.

Maher said that he is now making some changes to the script, in order to fit the new shooting locations. Production of the film will now be a joint effort between Maher himself, the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, which granted the film 2 million pounds, in addition to a European company, and a Morrocan company with which Maher is still negotiating.

Possible candidates to star in “Lahm wa Dam” are Amr Waked, Asser Yassin, Mahmoud Hemeida, and Cyrine Abdel Nour. The film won the first prize in the Ministry of Culture's annual competition, the same prize that Maher's “ Al Mosafer” (The Traveller) won several years ago.
