The 7th Oran Arab Film Festival will be wrapping up on Monday with a closing awards ceremony. The festival began on the 23rd of September in the Algerian city of Oran.

The ceremony will be held in the evening, following a discussion of the film “ Ala Mad el Basar” (Line of Sight) and “Asfoury,” both of which screened yesterday, in addition to a discussion of all of the films that were screened this year.

Rabea Mosawy, director of the festival, is expected to give a speech during the ceremony, in which attendees will be treated to a fashion show of Algerian designs and a performance by the Algerian Symphony Orchestra. The award winners will be announced towards the end of the ceremony.

This year, two Egyptian films are competing in the official feature film competition, both of which happen to have been directed by women: “ Harag w Marag” (Hubbub) from Nadine Khan and “Asham” from Maggie Morgan. Also up for awards are the Egyptian short film “ Sahr el Farasha” (The Butterfly Charm) by Romany Saad, and the documentary “Erka,” in their respective categories.
