Actor James Mcavoy has denied the claim that he would play the British TV presenter Jimmy Savile, after several reports stated recently that McAvoy showed enthusiasm in playing the role of the famous presenter who committed over 200 sexual crimes, a majority of which were against children, in a new film.

In an interview in Radio Times, writer Irvine Welsh stated that he is discussing a possible project with McAvoy which involved adapting the late TV star's biography for a film, a statement that was denied by McAvoy's spokeswoman, who added that McAvoy never expressed an interest in playing the role before.

In other news, McAvoy has recently signed in to star in Frankenstein as Dr. Henry Frankenstein, opposite Daniel Radcliffe.
