Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson to Star in Harry and the Butler

Stars Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson have both signed contracts to lead the comedy “Harry andthe Butler,” which will be directed by acclaimed stage and filmdirector George C. Wolfe, and is adapted from the classic Danish film“Harry og Kammertjeneren" from 1961, according to theHollywood Reporter website.

Jackson will be playing an ex-jazzsinger, who works as a mechanic and lives in a scrap train vehicle inNew Orleans, yet he suddenly inherits a big sum of money, and decidesto hire an English butler, who will be played by Michael Caine. TheHollywood Reporter has stated that the director C. Wolfe will beginto shoot the script written by DamianF. Slattery on location in Louisiana next spring .

Ina press conference, producers of the film expressed their excitement:“We are very proud to bring together these two great movie icons,Sam Jackson and Michael Caine, under the direction of the greatGeorge C. Wolfe.”

Recently,before the signing of Caine and Jackson, a number of early reports mentioned that Anthony Hopkins and Morgan Freeman were the likelycandidates for the lead roles.
