Paramount Moves “Labor Day” to January Release

Insteadof the originally declared December 27th, Jason Reitman's movie will have a limited one week Oscar qualifyingrun and a wide release on January 31st.

Themovie stars Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. Based on Joyce Maynard'snovel of the same name, a depressed mother (Winslet) gives a stranger(Brolin) a ride in her car.

Bythis change, Paramount avoids opening “ labor Day” in a very busychristmas where five other wide releases (47Ronin, Believe, Wolf of Wall Street, Grudge Match, The Secret Life ofWalter Mitty),opening only against the romantic comedy “That Awkward Moment.”

Josh Brolin was nominated for an Academy Award twice before for " Juno" and " Up in The Air"
