The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Grosses $25 Million in it's First Night

Afteropening on Thursday's late night screenings, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire earned $25 million in it's opening night,raising expectations on its box office success.

Thisvictorious opening sumexceededit's prequel's ( The Hunger Games) opening late night's gross in 2012by 28%. The film now comes 7thin the list of the top grossing openings in film history, after thelast Harry Potter,the Twilight saga and The Dark Knight Rises.

Onthe international level, producers Lionsgate published a reportstating that the film grossed $32 million from 43 countries.

Inthe sequel, President Snow looks for the best way to avenge Katniss,after revolting against the games' rules in the first part.
