A Sixth 'X-Men' in 2016

In a step reflecting the amount oftrust “Fox” is giving to the X-Men franchise, the company hasdecided to begin preproduction for a sixth installment of the series,entitled 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' even before the release of the fifth Days of Future Past.

Director Bryan Singer, who directed thefirst two films of the series, and returned on the fifth, has statedon twitter that "#X_Men #Apocalypse 2016.''

This enthusiasm, which comes after thesuccess that director Matthew Vaughn made in 2011, when he broughtthe series back to life with X-Men: First Class, which follows themain characters in an earlier phase in their history. Days ofFuture Past followed, bringing together old characters from previousfilms (2000 to 2006), and the new successful one.

Fox financed Days of Future Past with250 million dollars, making it the top financed project in itshistory. The film will be released on the 24th of May,2014.

No further details have been revealedregarding the sixth film, other than its May 2016 release date, andit keeping most of the series' stars: Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence.
