Data published by the Internet search provider “Google,” as part of its annual “Google Zeitgeist” report, has put Man of Steel on top of the most searched for films on the site in 2013.

The film, which stars Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder, and is another rendition of the comic superhero “Superman,” spearheaded a list that included Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man 3 in the second place, and Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained in the third place.

The animated Despicable Me 2, which earned the second highest box office gross in 2013 after Iron Man 3, came fourth on the list, followed by The Great Gatsby. The 23rd James Bond film Skyfall came sixth, although it was theatrically released in 2012.

The rest of the list's top ten films were Ang Lee's Life of Pi, Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty, Elysium and Hangover 3, from 7th to 10th respectively.

Man of Steel was released on the 14th of last June, and has exceeded a sum of $662 million at the box office. A sequel to the blockbuster is currently in preproduction, and will include a confrontation between Super Man and Batman.
