'Ride Along' Tops American Box Office for Third Consecutive Week

Ride Along managed to keep its top position on the American box office list for the third consecutive week, after adding $12 million to its total gross this week, dropping 43.5% in its weekly earning rate, and reaching a total gross of $92.6 million.

The film was directed by Tim Story, and was produced with $25 million. In the second place came Frozen again, adding $8.9 million to a gross that reached $359.6 million in its eleventh week of American theatrical release.

That Awkward Momentcame third, earning $8.7 million in its first week. The film was directed by Tom Gormican, and stars Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller. The Nut Job stepped back to number four with $7.2 million.

The Lone Survivor also stepped back two places, reaching number five this week with $7 million, followed by Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit with $5.3 million.

The newcomer Labor Day finished at number seven, with an opening worth $5.1 million. The film features Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, and was directed by Jason Reitman. American Hustle came next with $4.1 million, followed by I, Frankenstein at number nine with $3.7 million, after finishing last week at the sixth position. Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street came last with $3.4 million.
