Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee's Frozen has met expectations yesterday, when named Best Animated Film of the year by the British Film Academy, favored over Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University.

In another category, Gravity, which topped this year's contenders with eleven nominations, won the award for best original music; its third award during the ceremony, with composer Steven Price present to receive it.

Gravity also won awards for best sound and best British film. The title of “Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer” went to Kieran Evans, the writer and director of “Kelly + Victor.”
