Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks Reuniting in Cold War Thriller

Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks is attached to star in a Soviet/American cold-war-era film, according to The Wrap website.

Reports stated that blockbuster guru Steven Spielberg is developing the script to helm the production, in which Hanks will play James Donovan, a prominent American attorney enlisted by the CIA during the war to negotiate the release of Gary Powers, an American pilot captured after his spy plane was shot down over Russia.

Matt Charman wrote the script and Marc Platt is producing the film. Spielberg isn't yet fully commited to the project, but it is one of several in his scope for upcoming productions, alongside the sci-fi Robopocalypse and the historical epic Montezuma.

Spielberg and Hanks teamed up before in Saving Private Ryan, Catch Me If You Canand The Terminal.
