International star Tom Hanks declined the invitation he received from the Egyptian Minister of Tourism Hesham Zazou to have dinner together.

According to the El Watan News website, quoting sources inside the Ministry of Tourism, Tom Hanks declined to meet Zazou because he was busy shooting his new film “ A Hologram for the King.” The Oscar-winning actor’s refusal caused the minister dismay, as he had wanted to take advantage of Tom Hank’s visit to promote tourism in Egypt.

Hanks arrived at the Hurghada airport last Friday in order to shoot a number of deep sea scenes from his new film in thediving and coral reef areas. The crew began filming on Saturday and Hanks is expected to leave Egypt on Monday.
