Director Hany Khalifa has finished shooting 75% of his upcoming film “Sokkar Mor” (Bitter Sugar), after the production was halted due to holidays and set decorations.

Khalifa is now left with one shooting week to wrap production, after which the producers will settle upon a release date, most probably by the mid-year vacation.

Featuring an ensemble cast, the film follows the stories of five women and five men, who are connected by marriage, romance or friendships, and who eventually face situations that make them put their whole relationships at stake.

The film is Khalifa's second feature film, ten years after his debut “ Sahar EL Layaly” (Sleepless Nights). It stars Ahmed El Fishawy, Haytham Ahmed Zaky, Ayten Amer, Shery Adel, Karim Fahmy, Nabil Eissa, Amina Khalil, Nahed El Sebaie, Amr El Said and Sara Shahin, and was written by Mohamed Abdel Moaty.
