Director Nader Galal Dies, Aged 73

Director Nader Galal died today at the break of dawn, at the age of 73. His funeral will take place this evening.

The late director had started shooting the scenes of his most recent work lately, which was the television series “Shatarang” (Chess), starring Nidal El Shafei and Hazem Samir.

Nader is the son of artist Ahmed Galal and legendary producer Mary Queeny, and is the father of director Ahmed Nader Galal. He started participating in films as an actor at the age of 5.

He directed nearly 50 films, including “Khamsa Bab”, “Wahda we Wahda” (One and One), and “ Salam Ya Sahby” (Farewell , My Friend).

The television series “ Al Aqrab” (The Scorpion) was his latest finished production, along with the series “Kika Al Aaly”, which is now airing on television.
